Once diagnosed, ALF directs and guides the patient to the next step, where to go, who to see, based on their medical needs, preferences and logistics in order to achieve the best outcome results for cure of that individual patient. 

Hepatitis C is known as a "the silent killer".  After years of asymptomatic infection, Hepatitis C commonly causes fatal cancers or cirrhosis of the liver. At that point there Is little that can be medically done.  

It is vital Important, after being diagnosed positive with Hepatitis C to seek professional treatment. Only a trained gastrointestinologist possesses the knowledge to diagnose and treat the damage to a Hepatitis C patient's liver.

Imtiaz Alam, M.D. - Short Biography
Imtiaz Alam received his medical degree from University of Dundee in Scotland. He completed his residency at Hahnemann University Hospital, PA and his gastroenterology and hepatology fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco. While in San Francisco, Dr. Alam was an NIH research fellow. His area of basic science research was complications of chronic liver diseases.

From 1996-1998, Dr. Alam was an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Texas A & M College of Medicine.

In 1998, Dr. Alam started the Austin Hepatitis Center, where he is currently the medical director.

From 2006-2012, Dr. Alam was Chief of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at University Medical Center, Austin

In 2014, Dr. Alam helped start the CommUnityCare Hepatitis C clinic in Austin, TX.

In 2014, Dr. Alam became the President and CEO of Eixsys Healthcare System.

Dr. Alam is Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at University of Texas, Southwestern.

Dr. Alam maintains one of the largest private practices in the country devoted to liver diseases and gastroparesis. Dr. Alam is board certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology.

Dr. Alam is currently a principal investigator for many Phase1 to Phase 4 drug trials. He has written and published numerous articles for peer reviewed journals.
